1. Definitions
- “Client” means the person or organisation requesting delivery services.
- “Job” means the specific delivery service provided by Taylored Logistics Limited.
- “POD” means Proof of Delivery, either digital or paper.
- “Services” means the logistics and delivery services provided by Taylored Logistics Limited.
- “Consignment” means goods, packages, documents, or other items for delivery.
- “Dangerous Goods” means substances regulated under the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations or any similar laws.
- “Excluded Goods” means goods Taylored Logistics Limited does not carry, as listed in these terms or on our website.
2. Scope of Service
Taylored Logistics Limited provides UK delivery services as specified in each Job. Services exclude international deliveries, and any special requirements not agreed in writing prior to the Job.
3. Staff Verification & Security
- All Taylored Logistics Limited staff have undergone DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Our drivers and staff carry company-issued identification at all times while on duty.
- Clients have the right to request to see our staff identification upon delivery or collection.
3A. Use of Outsourced Drivers and Services
Taylored Logistics Limited may fulfil some Jobs using trusted outsourced drivers or third-party providers. These partners are required to meet our operational standards, including the use of appropriate PPE and adherence to site safety protocols. However, they do not wear Taylored Logistics Limited uniforms or carry our company-issued identification. While not directly employed by Taylored Logistics Limited, all outsourced personnel are vetted to ensure a consistent, professional service.
3B. Dangerous Goods & Excluded Goods
- Taylored Logistics Limited does not accept Dangerous Goods without prior written agreement. Dangerous Goods must be properly packaged and labelled per legal regulations.
- Excluded Goods include, but are not limited to: cash, jewellery, precious metals, hazardous substances, live animals, perishables requiring refrigeration, firearms, ammunition, illegal items.
- Any Dangerous or Excluded Goods sent without disclosure will be carried entirely at the Client’s risk. Taylored Logistics Limited may refuse carriage, return goods, or dispose of such items at the Client’s expense.
4. Standard Rate
- £1.55 per mile for all UK deliveries using our large van service, unless otherwise quoted or stated.
- Includes fuel, loading/unloading (small, pre-agreed packages), and optional fragile item care.
- Drivers wear PPE and follow all site safety protocols.
- Insured: Public Liability, Goods in Transit, Hire & Reward.
- Clients must provide assistance for loading/unloading at both ends unless otherwise agreed.
- Collections outside a 15-mile radius from our base will incur a surcharge equal to 50% of the agreed per-mile rate for the distance beyond 15 miles.
- Deliveries into London congestion zones (Zones 1–3) are charged differently due to access restrictions, tolls, and delays. Please contact us for a custom quote before booking.
- If the declared value of a consignment exceeds £100, additional charges may apply for increased liability coverage. Otherwise, our liability is limited to £100 per consignment.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Provide accurate details of goods including size, weight, and fragility.
- Ensure all items are properly packaged and labelled.
- Inform Taylored Logistics in advance of any special requirements.
- Provide safe and lawful access at collection and delivery locations.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations.
6. Minimum Charge & Cancellation Policy
- £60 base charge applies to all jobs, including short-distance runs under 25 miles.
- This covers time, fuel, PPE, and admin.
Cancellation Policy:
- More than 2 hours before collection:
- No charge if cancelled before the driver has been dispatched.
- If travel has already begun: £60 cancellation fee + mileage already travelled (at the agreed per-mile rate) + any waiting time incurred.
- Within 2 hours of scheduled collection:
- £60 cancellation fee + mileage from base to collection (and return if required) + any waiting time incurred.
- Charges also apply if access is denied or the site contact is unavailable.
7. Waiting Time
- First 30 minutes free at both collection and delivery locations.
- Afterwards charged at £30 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments (£7.50 per 15 mins).
- Applies if loading/unloading is delayed, access is restricted, or no personnel are available.
- Time is charged separately per stop for multi-drop jobs.
8. Waiting Time & Client Contact
If Taylored Logistics is unable to contact the Client or their authorised representative at the scheduled collection or delivery location, we will wait for a maximum of 2 hours from the scheduled time.
This 2-hour waiting period applies only if there is no communication with the Client. If Taylored Logistics is in contact with the Client or authorised representative, we will wait as long as necessary.
If contact cannot be established within the 2-hour period and no access is granted, the goods will be returned to our business address and delivery will be rearranged for the next working day.
The Client will be responsible for the full cost of the return and redelivery, charged at the agreed price per mile rate.
8A. Undelivered or Unclaimed Goods
If delivery cannot be completed and no further instructions are provided within 7 days, Taylored Logistics Limited reserves the right to store, dispose of, or sell the Consignment to recover costs. Storage fees may apply.
9. Payment Terms & Late Payment Charges
- All invoices are due upon receipt unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- Standard credit terms: 30 days End of Month (EOM).
- Please use the invoice number as the payment reference.
- If payment is not received within 14 days after the due date (second reminder), the following may apply under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998:
- £40 statutory late fee.
- Statutory interest at 8% above Bank of England base rate (accrues daily).
- We will send reminders by email and phone prior to applying any fees, following this process:
Payment Reminder Schedule:
- 7 days before due date: Reminder email.
- 7 days overdue: First polite overdue reminder.
- 14 days overdue: Second reminder; £40 late payment charge applied as a separate invoice.
- 21 days overdue: Final notice warning of formal debt recovery action.
- 28 days overdue: Initiation of formal recovery proceedings including Small Claims Court submission or debt collection agency referral.
- Additional recovery costs including court fees and statutory interest will be charged to the Client.
10. Invoice Disputes
Any invoice queries must be raised within 7 days of issue. Please email admin@tayloredlogistics.uk.
11. Proof of Delivery (POD)
Digital or paper PODs are available and may require a recipient signature or confirmation.
11A. Claims and Time Limits
- Clients must notify Taylored Logistics Limited of any loss, damage, or misdelivery within 24 hours of delivery.
- A written claim must be submitted within 7 days of delivery. Claims submitted outside this timeframe may not be accepted.
12. Insurance & Liability
- Taylored Logistics Limited holds Goods in Transit Insurance, Public Liability Insurance, and Hire & Reward Insurance.
- Taylored Logistics Limited is not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, or third-party issues.
- Liability for loss, damage, or theft of goods is limited to the insured value or as agreed in writing.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
- Please notify us of fragile or high-value items at booking.
12A. Indemnity
Clients agree to indemnify Taylored Logistics Limited against any costs, losses, fines, penalties, or claims resulting from breach of these terms, misdeclared goods, carriage of prohibited items, or inaccurate delivery information.
13. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, or extreme weather.
14. Health & Safety Compliance
Clients must ensure safe working conditions at collection and delivery sites and comply with all relevant health and safety laws to protect all parties involved.
15. Confidentiality & Data Protection
Taylored Logistics Limited will keep all personal and commercial information confidential and handle data in accordance with applicable data protection laws including GDPR.
15A. Non-Solicitation
Clients agree not to solicit or employ any driver, employee, or contractor of Taylored Logistics Limited for a period of 6 months after the last Job performed.
16. Termination & Cancellation Policy
- Either party may terminate the contract with reasonable notice in writing.
- Clients remain liable for payment of all services provided prior to termination.
- Cancellation charges apply as stated under Section 6.
16A. Third-Party Rights
No person who is not a party to this contract shall have any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of these Terms and Conditions.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
18. Dispute Resolution
We encourage prompt and amicable resolution of disputes through negotiation or mediation before seeking legal remedies.
19. Changes to Terms
Taylored Logistics Limited reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of changes via email or website update.
20. Acceptance of Terms
By using our services, the Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
